I'm passionate about connecting people to resources, which has manifested itself in my roles within higher education, teaching a first-year transitional seminar course, coaching first generation students, and coaching friends and colleagues through professional development. I'm also passionate about advocating for and serving staff within higher education - facilitating opportunities for staff to spark new connections with each other and with leaders, creating experiences that foster sense of belonging and community, and supporting staff in designing their life and career.
The following quote from Brené Brown has been a driving force in my recent work: “I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.”
I have worked in multiple roles in higher education for the last eight years, including leading projects related to accreditation, academic initiatives, assessment, employee learning, and support for faculty and academic programs.
In 2013, I left my role in the corporate world as a high-performing individual contributor and jumped into a managerial role. And...wow, I was not mentally prepared for the transition to manager. I encountered many challenges as a first-time manager in a newly-created role, overseeing staff who had been in their roles for many years. Nevertheless, I persisted in finding my voice as a leader, discovering my unique strengths, and learning how to best leverage those strengths for success. Through participation in multiple leadership development programs, teaching an undergraduate course, and serving as a coach for first generation students, I recognized a passion for connecting people with resources and ideas.
In Gainesville, I participated in Leadership Gainesville 43, served as a mentor for Leadership Gainesville 45, and served on the boards of the Leadership Gainesville Alumni Association, Girls on the Run of Alachua County, and the UF Association for Academic Women. In the D.C. area, I served as public relations chair of the Junior League of Northern Virginia, as scholarship chair on the board of directors of the D.C. Gator Club, as coach for Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia, and as a varsity tennis coach.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending as much time as possible in nature, practicing mindfulness, running and working out, searching for good barbecue (please send suggestions), and coaching friends on career and professional success.

I invite you to learn more about CliftonStrengths, as well as the history and science behind it. Gallup also offers a lot of video resources via YouTube.
*At this time, I do not have capacity to offer single coaching sessions for exploring your CliftonStrengths reports. However, if you are interested, please contact me and I will let you know once capacity changes. If you are interested in purchasing a coaching package, I'm happy to discuss how we can weave in CliftonStrengths.
